Transformation of The Hotel Blue into ARRIVE Albuquerque Underway: Bringing Local Culture and Market Vibes to Downtown

After facing setbacks due to the pandemic, the long-awaited transformation of The Hotel Blue into ARRIVE Albuquerque is finally happening. Situated near Central and 8th Street, this boutique hotel aims to bring a vibrant local culture and market vibes to downtown.

The Director of the Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency, Terry Brunner, expresses the desire to create downtown as a destination for everyone. The vision includes offering an array of dining options and exciting activities, making downtown Albuquerque an attractive place to live and visit. With high hopes for the area, Brunner believes there is immense potential waiting to be tapped.

Developers are also in discussions with the non-profit organization that oversees the Downtown Growers Market. This popular market takes place every Saturday for several months a year at Robinson Park, which is conveniently located across from the hotel. The idea is to seamlessly integrate the market experience into the hotel, enriching the guest experience and forging connections with the local community.

Danielle Schlobohm, director of Downtown Albuquerque Main Street and Arts and Cultural District, highlights the limitless possibilities of incorporating the city’s unique culture and market vibes into the new hotel space. By sourcing food from hard-working farmers across the street at the market, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy locally grown produce and support the state’s agricultural industry.

ARRIVE Albuquerque is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2024. In addition to the hotel’s development, progress is also being made on two other projects in the same corner of downtown. The Ex Novo Brewing Company is expanding in the old Firestone building on 7th Street, while a city investment is driving the rehabilitation of an apartment project on the other side of the hotel, situated on Copper Street.

This simultaneous development of multiple establishments in downtown Albuquerque brings life and vitality to the area. The hotel’s transformation, the expansion of the Ex Novo Brewing Company, and the apartment rehabilitation project are all poised to contribute positively to the downtown landscape.

As Albuquerque continues to evolve, these initiatives reflect a commitment to revitalizing the city and embracing its local culture. By infusing downtown with new energy, attractions, and culinary experiences, Albuquerque aims to attract visitors and residents alike. The future of downtown Albuquerque is promising, with its roots deeply embedded in the city’s rich culture and vibrant market scene.
