A concertgoer has reported being struck by a thrown object at a Cardi B performance, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). The incident occurred at a property on Las Vegas Boulevard, which coincides with the location where Cardi B was performing on Saturday, July 29, 2023. The police statement did not mention the rapper by name. However, video footage shared on social media shows an audience member throwing a drink towards the stage, resulting in Cardi B being splashed. In response, she threw her microphone into the crowd as security guards rushed to the stage.
No arrest or citation has been issued thus far, as confirmed by the police. This incident is just one in a series of similar occurrences at concerts where artists have become the targets of thrown objects. Some performers have started addressing such behavior by engaging with the audience.
CNN has reached out to the Clark County District Attorney’s office for comment, as well as to the LVMPD public records department for a copy of the police report. Additionally, a representative for Cardi B has been contacted for their input.
