Indian Woman Marries Facebook Friend in Pakistan, Father Disowns Her

An Indian woman named Anju has caused quite a stir by marrying her Facebook friend, Nasrullah, in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. However, this unexpected union has resulted in her father disowning her and expressing his disappointment in her actions.

Gaya Prasad Thomas, Anju’s father, spoke to ANI and expressed his sorrow over his daughter’s choice. He declared that she is as good as dead to their family and has no right to return to India. Thomas even went so far as to threaten her with strict punishment if she does decide to come back. He strongly believes that what Anju did was wrong and that those who engage in such actions deserve to be punished.

Thomas further added that Anju should not be allowed to take custody of her two children. He emphasized that he is ashamed of her actions and has personally apologized to the government on her behalf. He requests that the government remove his name from his daughter’s name, as her actions have tainted their family’s reputation.

This incident bears some resemblance to the infamous Seema Haider case. Anju, who is from Rajasthan, allegedly crossed over to Pakistan to meet her lover. Unlike Seema, Anju was granted entry into Pakistan by authorities since she possessed a valid visa.

Anju’s husband, Arvind Kumar, was taken by surprise when his wife informed him that she was visiting a friend in Jaipur. To his shock, he received a call from her, revealing that she was in Lahore. Arvind expressed his confusion over her sudden decision to travel to Lahore and how she managed to obtain a visa without his knowledge. He expects her to return in a few days.

The Rajasthan Police took notice of the situation and initiated a preliminary investigation. Bhiwadi ASP Sujit Shankar suspects that this incident could be a matter of love affair. No formal complaint has been received yet, but if any fake documents were used by Anju to cross the border, appropriate action will be taken.

It is unfortunate that this love story has led to such estrangement within Anju’s family. The case highlights the complexities of relationships forged through social media platforms and the potential consequences they may have on individuals and their families. This incident serves as a reminder to exercise caution and consideration when pursuing online connections, as the fallout can be significant.

In the coming days, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold and what legal actions, if any, will be taken regarding Anju’s marriage to her Facebook friend in Pakistan.
