Fourteen early stage startups in Romania have been selected for the third edition of the Romania ClimAccelerator, a local green accelerator focused on developing innovative solutions for a sustainable future. The startups were chosen from a pool of 51 applicants and were selected based on their potential to address environmental problems and combat climate change using technology.
The selected startups are working on various ideas that aim to promote a circular economy, reduce the environmental impact of production, develop smart solutions for green cities, implement climate-smart agriculture, reduce emissions from industry, encourage responsible consumption, and utilize technology and artificial intelligence for positive environmental impact.
The fourteen winning startups are Applied Research Solutions, a software developer; Atlas of Sports, an online platform for alternative sports; CarbonCel, a carbon farming assistant; Dash, a mobility-sharing solution; DigIT, an AI and tech startup; Energy Advisor, a sustainability app; FungiHeroes, a green startup; Kolecto, a digital recycling solution; MASAP, a startup based on Aquaponics (AP) architecture; reFab, a sustainable fashion startup; SISIHOUSE, a clothing rental service; Smart Manole, a construction management solution; Urban Nutribox; and ZÄ‚ KUP, an ecological system of reusable cups for events and festivals.
These fourteen teams will now participate in a three-month business acceleration program. The program includes workshops on various aspects of business management, mentoring sessions, and community meetings. Additionally, the startups will receive media exposure and the opportunity to be part of an international community within the field. The program aims to equip these startups with the necessary skills and resources to turn their innovative ideas into successful businesses.
The goal of the Romania ClimAccelerator is to drive sustainable solutions and support startups that are committed to making a positive environmental impact. By providing a platform for mentorship, networking, and business development, the program aims to facilitate the growth and success of green startups in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
Startups in the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) category still have an opportunity to apply for the program until August 22. The Romania ClimAccelerator is paving the way for the next generation of entrepreneurs who are dedicated to finding innovative solutions to combat climate change and promote sustainability.
