Scottish Songwriter Lewis Capaldi Adjusts Tour to Accommodate Tourette’s Impact

Scottish singer-songwriter, Lewis Capaldi, has announced that he is taking a break from touring for the foreseeable future in order to adjust to the impact of Tourette syndrome. This follows his recent performance at the Glastonbury Festival where he appeared to lose his voice and the crowd carried him through his songs. Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder that causes individuals to make involuntary sounds and movements. Capaldi revealed last September that he had been diagnosed with the condition. His current tour, which includes venues in Australia, South Korea, and Iceland among others, was due to end in the United Arab Emirates on October 7th. In his statement, Capaldi said that he needs to spend much more time getting his mental and physical health in order so he can continue doing everything he loves for a long time to come. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter said he was ‘still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette’s,’ and added that his fans have had an important role in supporting him. The announcement comes after Netflix released a documentary, How I’m Feeling Now, in which Capaldi opened up about his struggles with the condition.
