KP Group’s subsidiary, KPI Green Energy, has played a key role in the creation of a 7.5-carat diamond that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted to US First Lady Dr. Jill Biden during his recent state visit to the US. The lab-grown diamond was produced by Surat-based Greenlab Diamonds LLP, the world’s largest producer of lab-grown diamonds. The entire production of the diamond was powered by environmentally-friendly solar and wind power, which was made possible by KPI Green Energy. The company fulfilled the electricity requirements for Greenlab Diamonds by establishing solar and wind power plants. The solar power plant is a 25 MW plant, and the wind power plant is a 9.4 MW hybrid plant.
KP Group Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Faruk G. Patel said, We are tremendously proud to have played a part in the creation of this exceptional lab-grown diamond by powering the Surat factory where it was created with green energy. The project showcases the successful integration of green power and cutting-edge technology and is a big step towards a future powered by clean energy.
Greenlab Director Mukesh Patel said, The creation of this lab-grown diamond not only employed eco-friendly practices but also symbolises India’s commitment to transition towards green and renewable energy, a goal championed by Prime Minister Modi himself. We are committed to crafting diamonds that make a difference by harvesting sustainable luxury that nurtures people and the environment.
KPI Green Energy’s hybrid wind power plant in Kora village of Bharuch is the first in south Gujarat, which has opened new possibilities and opportunities for wind power projects in this region. This collaboration between KPI Green Energy and Greenlab Diamonds is significant because it highlights the successful coming together of sustainable power generation and innovative diamond production techniques. It also demonstrates India’s strides towards a greener and more environmentally conscious future.
This groundbreaking achievement marks India’s commitment to sustainable energy usage. It has initiated a movement towards green energy among other organisations and companies throughout the country. With the successful integration of innovative technologies and environmentally friendly practices, India is well on its way to achieving a sustainable future.
