Fire Force officers from the Middle Eastern country of Kuwait have recently traveled to study at Mesa Community College to earn an associate’s degree in Fire Science and be promoted to a higher rank back home. This group of 29 employed Fire Force members, Kuwait’s national emergency responders, are on a full-time education trip to Arizona to study at MCC’s Fire Science program. Officers believe studying in the United States will provide them with valuable skills and experience to enhance their capabilities in Kuwait. Students from Kuwait, like Muhammad Alazmei and Amer Alraqei, recognize the benefits of studying fire science in the U.S., citing the country’s larger scale and more frequent fire situations. While in Arizona, they aim to gain practical, hands-on experience in handling various emergency scenarios. The officers plan to further their education at Eastern Kentucky University after completing their associate’s degree at MCC, solidifying their expertise in fire science. With a strong focus on cultural exchange and linguistic improvement, the officers are also immersing themselves in American society to broaden their understanding of firefighting techniques and tactics. Their journey underscores the importance of international collaboration and knowledge-sharing in enhancing emergency response capabilities on a global scale.
