US, UK carry out new strikes on Yemen
The US and the UK carried out a fourth series of strikes on Yemen on Saturday, targeting Houthi underground weapons storage facilities, missile storage facilities, attack drones, air defense systems, radars, and a helicopter. The strikes were conducted with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. Abdul Malik al-Houthi, the leader of the Houthis, reported a total of 278 strikes on Yemen since January 12. The Houthis have threatened to strike Israeli territory and disrupt shipping in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait amid the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The multinational coalition’s recent actions aim to deter Houthi attacks on international vessels in the region, escalating tensions in the already volatile area.
