Climate Dystopia: How Life Would Get Worse If Climate Alarmists Carry Out Their Agenda

What would happen if the climate alarmists actually succeeded in the United States?

The auto industry is raising concerns about the rising number of unsold battery electric vehicles (BEVs) at dealerships across the country. Despite significant price cuts, manufacturer incentives, and generous government subsidies, the demand for electric cars remains low. In fact, only 7 percent of new vehicle sales are electric, falling far short of President Biden’s ambitious goal of achieving 60 percent electric vehicle sales by 2030 and 66 percent by 2032.

According to experts, American consumers still prefer gas-powered cars for a number of reasons. Unlike BEVs, which can take 45 minutes or longer to fully recharge, gas-powered cars can be refueled in just five or 10 minutes at a gas station. The inconvenience of longer charging times and limited charging infrastructure makes electric cars less desirable for many drivers. Additionally, the cost of electric vehicles remains high, making them unaffordable for a significant portion of the population.

Diana Furchtgott-Roth, director of The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Energy, Climate and Environment, explains that the push by climate alarmists for an aggressive transition to electric vehicles ignores the natural progression that technology undergoes over time. By imposing stringent regulations and penalizing automakers for selling gas-powered cars, the government is limiting consumer choice and forcing an unrealistic timeline for change.

The implications of a successful climate alarmist agenda extend beyond the automotive industry. If cars become less effective and more expensive, many Americans may find themselves unable to afford personal transportation altogether. This could lead to a mass migration towards areas with reliable public transit, resulting in increased housing costs and limited housing options.

The issue of mobility is not the only concern. As regulations become more commonplace, everyday household appliances like dishwashers and clothes washers could become less effective. Green alternatives, which may be the only option due to the banning of other sources of electricity, might not provide the same level of convenience and performance. Washing dishes and clothes may take longer, and consumers may still find food residue on their plates and stubborn stains on their clothes even after running the machines.

Furthermore, an overreliance on green energy sources like wind and solar power could have unintended consequences on the global stage. Germany’s transition to green energy, for example, did not eliminate the country’s dependence on fossil fuels. Instead, it made them reliant on imports, particularly Russian oil. This dependence on Russia has potentially emboldened President Vladimir Putin and may have contributed to his decision to invade Ukraine in 2022.

Steve Milloy, founder and editor of JunkScience.com, argues that such green policies have unintended consequences and can actually undermine global stability. He highlights the fact that the production of electric vehicle parts often relies on slave labor in the Congo, revealing the ethical and moral dilemmas associated with green technologies.

In summary, if the climate alarmists succeed in the United States, life could become more challenging for the majority of citizens. The forced transition to electric vehicles and the associated limitations could result in a loss of mobility and increased costs for Americans. The suburbs, once a symbol of the American dream, could become less accessible, and the performance of everyday appliances may deteriorate. Furthermore, an overreliance on green energy sources could have unintended geopolitical consequences. While the climate alarmists may benefit, the average citizen could face a dystopian reality.

As President Biden’s administration continues to implement climate-focused policies and regulations, Americans are already experiencing the effects of this climate dystopia. However, if these trends continue, the situation could worsen significantly. It is essential to strike a balance between environmental concerns and the practical realities of people’s lives to avoid a future where the green upper class thrives, while the majority struggles with the consequences.
