The State Investigation Agency (SIA) in Kashmir recently conducted a series of raids on six locations for individuals and groups allegedly involved in propagating secessionist and anti-India sentiments through various social media platforms. The pre-dawn searches aimed to uncover unlawful and secessionist activities on social media by identifying entities which are suspected of conniving with foreign associates to further their nefarious agenda, including instigating and supporting acts of terrorism. Searches were carried out in Kupwara, Anantnag, Pulwama and Srinagar districts of Kashmir.
The identified entities are alleged to be collaborating with their foreign associates to spread hate against India and promoting terror activities. In addition, these entities have been targeting government servants, hindering their ability to perform their lawful duties, according to the investigation agency.
The searches resulted in the seizure of significant digital and physical evidence such as mobile phones and SIM cards, among others. The evidence will be analysed to build a robust case against the accused individuals and organizations, ensuring a comprehensive investigation and subsequent legal proceedings. The SIA-Kashmir registered the case regarding India-based social media entities allegedly propagating secessionist and anti-India sentiments to fulfil their nefarious objectives.
The search operation is ongoing, and more such raids may be conducted in the region to identify culprits. The SIA-Kashmir is committed to ending all secessionist and anti-India propaganda on social media platforms and ensuring that all those involved in such activities are brought to justice.
