The Russian army is said to have been hit by a cholera outbreak just days after the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine caused catastrophic flooding, according to military group Atesh. The group cited informants from military hospitals in Kherson and Crimea as saying many Russian soldiers are being admitted daily with suspected cases of cholera, and several have died. The group said the outbreak is likely due to Russian troops using water from open sources because of difficulties with the delivery of bottled water due to the flooding.
