The West Bank city of Jenin saw the fiercest fighting in years as Israeli military raided the refugee camp on Monday, with helicopter gunships carrying out strikes. The battle, which lasted nearly 10 hours, triggered the killing of at least five Palestinians, including a 15-year-old boy. More than 90 others were wounded, with 12 in critical conditions. Seven Israeli soldiers were also injured. Armoured bulldozers and missile fire from at least one Apache helicopter, as well as gunfire, were used by Israeli security forces in the fight against Palestinian militants.
