However, Miller is fiercely opposed to the idea and refuses to give up his property. He stated, I have no desire for you to take my land. I don’t have any reason to want to get rid of it. Determined to hold onto what is rightfully his, Miller is prepared to fight until the end and will only comply if mandated by a court order.
Pineville Electric Systems Manager, David Lucore, acknowledged the frustrations of the residents and assured them that the decision to choose this location was not made lightly. He emphasized that they are open to exploring alternative options if they prove to be more suitable or equally feasible. Lucore explained, We’re just trying to cover all bases, you know, leave no stone unturned and provide the space we need for a new substation.

The residents believe that while the substation may be required, there are better locations that would minimize the disruption to businesses and neighborhoods.
