Dozens Killed and Infrastructure Destroyed as Enemy Conducts Multiple Attacks in Eastern Ukraine
During the past 24 hours, the ongoing conflict in Eastern Ukraine has escalated with a surge in enemy attacks, resulting in numerous casualties and extensive damage to infrastructure. According to reports from the press center of the General Staff, there were a staggering 71 combat clashes, involving 5 missiles and 76 air strikes. In addition, the enemy launched 50 rocket salvo attacks on both military positions and civilian areas.
Tragically, civilians have lost their lives and sustained injuries as a result of these Russian terrorist attacks. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have also been destroyed and damaged. Air strikes have been carried out in several regions, including Stepok in the Sumy region, Holubivka, Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Stepove, Avdiivka, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Staromayorske in the Donetsk region. The attacks have even extended to Tiahynka in the Kherson region.
The impact of the conflict has been far-reaching, affecting more than 150 settlements across various regions, including Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, and Mykolaiv. These areas have been subjected to relentless artillery fire, causing immense destruction and endangering the lives of countless innocent civilians.
While the operational situation remains relatively stable in the Volyn and Polissia directions under the responsibility of the OSGT North, the enemy has maintained a military presence in the border areas of the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions. They have engaged in active diversionary activities, hampering the movement of Ukrainian troops and intensifying the deployment of mine and explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupiansk direction, within the area of responsibility of the OSGT Khortytsia, the enemy has launched assaults near Synkivka and east of Petropavlivka in the Kharkiv region. However, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled 7 attacks. In the Lyman direction, the enemy has initiated assaults in the Torske district of the Donetsk region, but their efforts have been in vain.
Similarly, in the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian soldiers have bravely thwarted 8 invaders’ attacks near Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. Furthermore, the Defense Forces continue to carry out assault operations south of Bakhmut, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy and consolidating their positions.
Moving to the Avdiivka direction, the enemy persists in their attempts to encircle Avdiivka. However, Ukrainian soldiers remain resilient in their defense, causing significant casualties to the enemy. The east of Keramik, Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, and Avdiivka in the Donetsk region has witnessed unsuccessful offensive actions, as the Defense Forces successfully repelled 26 attacks.
In the Mariinka direction of Donetsk region, the enemy has launched unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Mariinka and Novomykhailivka, where Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 22 attacks. Similarly, in the direction of Shakhtar, the enemy’s assaults near Staromayorske in the Donetsk region have been futile, as the Defense Forces repelled all 3 attacks.
In the direction of Zaporizhzhia, the enemy attempted to launch assaults in the settlements of Robotyne, Novoprokopivka, and west of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region. However, their efforts were in vain, as the assaults were successfully repelled.
The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, continuously inflicting losses on enemy personnel and equipment, and gradually wearing down the occupying forces along the entire front line.
Within the area of responsibility of the OSGT Odesa, Ukrainian soldiers are engaging in a counter-battery fight in the Kherson direction, causing significant damage to the enemy’s rear positions. The Defense Forces will maintain their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region, relentlessly inflicting fire damage on the enemy.
Throughout the day, the aviation units of the Defense Forces conducted 6 strikes on areas with concentrated enemy personnel. At the same time, the missile forces targeted 3 control points, 3 locations with concentrated personnel, weapons, military equipment, as well as an artillery and ammunition depot of the enemy.
The situation in Eastern Ukraine remains grave, with civilians suffering the devastating consequences of ongoing attacks. The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to demonstrate resilience and determination in repelling enemy assaults and preserving the safety and security of the Ukrainian people.
