Israeli Army Retaliates with Strikes on Syria After Drone Attack
The Israeli army has launched retaliatory strikes on sites within Syria following a drone attack on the Israeli city of Eilat. The army stated that it targeted the organization responsible for the attack without disclosing its name. In addition to this, the Israeli army announced ongoing operations to dismantle Hezbollah’s infrastructure in Lebanon, stating that combat aircraft had struck Hezbollah targets in Lebanese territory.
The drone attack on Eilat, which caused material damage and led to a state of panic, prompted the Israeli army’s response. The tensions in the Middle East have been high since a Palestinian resistance attack on the Israeli-occupied area around the Gaza Strip resulted in the abduction of more than 230 people, including Israelis and foreigners. In response, Israel carried out intense airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, leading to a devastating toll of over 10,500 fatalities and more than 20,000 injuries.
The situation has further worsened due to the severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. Essential services like Internet and water supply have been cut off by Israel, resulting in acute shortages of food and medical equipment. Meanwhile, many hospitals have been closed, leaving Gaza in a catastrophic state. Amidst this challenging environment, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, Lebanese Hezbollah, and Houthi forces in Yemen have shown strong solidarity with Palestine.
These groups have conducted various operations, including missile launches and drone attacks, to demonstrate their support for the Palestinian cause during the ongoing conflict. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has intensified its attacks primarily targeting American bases in Iraq and Syria. They have focused on Ain al-Assad and Harir bases. In Yemen, the Ansar Allah group launched missiles towards occupied territories, although the majority were successfully intercepted by Israel.
In Lebanon, the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah revolves around Lebanon’s right to liberate its lands. Hezbollah has focused its strikes on the Shebaa Farms and Kfarshouba Hills, still under Israeli occupation. Clashes in southern Lebanon resulted in the death of approximately 70 Hezbollah members, who successfully destroyed Israeli watchtowers, military bases, and inflicted casualties on Israeli soldiers.
The ongoing tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate as retaliatory strikes and attacks unfold. The situation remains highly volatile, with different groups expressing their support for Palestine and engaging in actions that amplify the conflict. As the crisis deepens, the international community endeavors to mediate and find a peaceful resolution, yet the path to lasting peace in the region remains uncertain.
