Audrey O. Kallbreier, a beloved resident of Chippewa Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the age of 84. She was under the compassionate care of St. Joseph’s Hospice at the LakeHouse in Chippewa Falls. Audrey’s passing was marked by a sense of tranquility, leaving behind cherished memories of a life well-lived.

Audrey was born on December 30, 1938, to Norma and Hjalmer Lien in Menomonie. She grew up in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School. After completing her education, Audrey ventured to Milwaukee, where she found love while working as a waitress. She met Donald, and they eventually got married. Together, they embarked on a journey around the world as Donald served in the U.S. Navy.

Following Donald’s honorable discharge, the couple returned to Chippewa Falls, where Audrey joined the workforce at JC Penny. She remained there for many years, dedicating herself to her job and building lasting relationships with her colleagues and customers.

Audrey was a devout member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she found solace and spiritual fulfillment. Beyond her religious commitments, she had a passion for sewing, enjoyed occasional trips to the casino, and found immense joy in gardening.

Left to cherish Audrey’s memory are her daughter, Margaret (Coley) Murphy of Chippewa Falls, as well as her grandchildren: Jordan Kallbreier, Logan Murphy, and Sydney (Jake Rada) Murphy. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Brixton, Hayden, and Crew. Audrey’s nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends mourn her loss alongside her immediate family.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her son Robert in 1997, her husband Donald in 1998, and her siblings: Delores Kohnke, Charles, Ronald, and Dean Lien.

A memorial service will be held in Audrey’s honor on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, located at 110 E. Grand Ave. in Chippewa Falls. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation period at the church for one hour. Reverend Brad Thomas will officiate the service. Audrey will be laid to rest at a later date in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

The family is being served by Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, located in Chippewa Falls. Those who wish to share memories and offer condolences can do so online at pedersonvolker.com.

As we bid farewell to Audrey O. Kallbreier, we remember a life well-lived—a life of love, faith, and devotion to family and community. Her peaceful passing serves as a reminder to cherish the moments we have and to find solace in the memories we create.
