However, it has been determined that this misleading juxtaposition was intentionally done by overlaying the graphic video onto the genuine i24 NEWS report.
Brooke Goldstein, the executive director of The Lawfare Project and a civil-rights lawyer, shared the viral video on social media, describing it as the worst video she has ever seen. Goldstein’s posts garnered significant attention and were widely shared before being deleted.
Upon closer examination, it has been discovered that the viral video is actually from 2018 and showcases a gruesome act carried out by members of a Mexican criminal group called the Guerrerense Guard. The original video, titled ‘Horrifying video where Mayo Zambada Hitmen removed the heart of one subject and decapitated another,’ depicts the torture of one man’s heart extraction and the decapitation of another.
Additionally, the clip from i24 NEWS, which was manipulated to create a false narrative, features Yossi Landau, a member of the Israeli rescue operation ‘Zaka,’ describing the aftermath of a Hamas attack in Ashdod. He details finding a woman with severe injuries, including a gunshot wound to the back of her head, and her stomach being open with a baby attached to her via the umbilical cord. It is important to note that Landau’s account is unrelated to the events depicted in the viral video.
