Head-On Collision Claims Life of Indian American Man in Indiana
A tragic accident in rural Greenwood near Indianapolis took the life of a 42-year-old Indian American man last week. Sukhwinder Singh, who hailed from the Hoshiarpur district of Punjab, lost his life due to injuries sustained in a head-on collision. The incident occurred on the evening of October 12 when Singh’s Honda Accord swerved into the opposite lane and crashed into a Cadillac Escalade.
Singh, who had been living in Indianapolis since 2010, arrived in the United States at the age of 15 in 1996. He leaves behind a wife, a 15-year-old son, and a 10-year-old daughter. The driver of the Cadillac, a 52-year-old Indianapolis man, and his 52-year-old female passenger also suffered severe injuries in the collision and were transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital for treatment.
The local police responded promptly to reports of the crash and found two vehicles involved, with three individuals trapped inside. A preliminary investigation indicates that Singh’s Honda Accord veered into the path of the oncoming Cadillac Escalade, resulting in the tragic collision. The police are continuing their investigation to gather more information and determine the exact cause of the accident.
This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the dangers that can arise on the road, even in rural areas. Authorities urge all drivers to remain vigilant and cautious to prevent such devastating accidents. Our hearts go out to Sukhwinder Singh’s family and friends during this difficult time as they mourn the loss of their loved one.
