UAE President Leads International Efforts to Cease Gaza Violence
In a bid to bring an end to the escalating violence in Gaza, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has taken center stage, leading discussions with world leaders. His primary aim is to mobilize international efforts and protect the vulnerable civilian population caught in the crossfire.
President Al Nahyan recently held talks with key figures such as His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt, President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel. The discussions centered around the urgent need to safeguard vulnerable groups, including children, women, and the elderly, along with the release of hostages.
Of utmost importance was President Al Nahyan’s call for the immediate establishment of humanitarian corridors to ensure the safe delivery of relief aid to Gaza. This would not only secure these crucial routes but also enable humanitarian organizations to fulfill their duties effectively.
These high-level conversations emphasized the significance of regional and international efforts in deescalating the situation and preventing further violence, aligning with the UAE’s steadfast commitment to curbing the worsening conditions.
Meanwhile, foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan engaged in telephone calls with his counterparts to address the ongoing crisis between Gaza and Israel. He conferred with Annalena Baerbock, the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, Jean Asselborn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, and Senator Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. Their discussions revolved around preserving civilian lives, regional efforts to eradicate extremism and tension, and the security and humanitarian consequences of the present crisis.
To urgently alleviate the suffering of those affected, the ministers explored ways of establishing safe corridors to facilitate the efficient delivery of relief and medical aid.
The UAE’s proactive involvement in spearheading diplomatic talks highlights their dedication to peaceful conflict resolution and their determination to protect the lives of innocent civilians caught in the crosshairs.
