In a tragic incident, the severed head of a 24-year-old fisherman was discovered by the Forest Department in the Sundarbans East Division, raising fears of a tiger attack. Shipat Hawlader, hailing from Paschim Rajapur village in Bagerhat’s Sharankhola upazila, had illegally entered the Sundarbans for fishing and had gone missing. Although Shipat’s face was disfigured, his father was able to recognize him through his clothing, according to Md Ikram Hossain, the officer-in-charge of Sharankhola police station. The recovered head was handed over to the grieving family. To address this unfortunate incident, an unnatural death case has been filed with the police station.
