Ukraine Defense Forces Make Gains in Eastern and Southern Territories

The conflict in Ukraine’s eastern and southern regions continues to escalate, with the Ukrainian Defense Forces making significant strides in retaking territories previously held by separatist groups. As reported by the General Staff press center and cited by Censor.NET, the Ukrainian forces are engaged in defensive operations in the east and south, as well as offensive actions in the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions.

Over the past day, intense combat clashes have unfolded, with the enemy launching missiles and conducting airstrikes. The Ukrainian troops have been targeted not only on the front lines but also civilian areas, resulting in casualties and damage to residential buildings and infrastructure. The repercussions of a recent terrorist attack involving Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones are still being assessed.

The airstrikes have extended to numerous locations across different regions. In the Kharkiv region, settlements like Kommissarove, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Pischane, Senkove, and Kopanky were hit by enemy attacks. Similarly, in the Luhansk region, Novoselivske and Nevske bore the brunt of the airstrikes. Other impacted areas include Zarichne, Spirne, Serebrianka, Bohdanivka, Krasnohorivka, Mariinka, Vuhledar, Velyka Novosilka, Urozhayne, and Staromayorske in the Donetsk region, as well as Novodarivka, Robotyne, Novodanilivka, Orihiv in the Zaporizhzhia region, and Beryslav and Olhivka in the Kherson region. Artillery fire affected over 100 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

While the situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions remains relatively stable, the enemy has been actively present in the Siver and Slobozhan areas, particularly along the border region. Their tactics involve diversionary activities to impede the movement of Ukrainian troops and the placement of explosive barriers in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupiansk and Lymansk directions, the enemy has not launched any offensive actions, but their attempts to regain a foothold in the Klishchiivka region of Luhansk have been unsuccessful. Steady progress by the Ukrainian Defense Forces is evident in the Avdiivka, Mariinka, and Shakhtarsk directions, with over 20 failed attacks by the enemy. Additionally, their endeavors to recover a lost position southwest of Avdiivka have met with little success.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, the invaders’ attempts to restore a lost position in the Robotyne and Verbove districts have been in vain, as Ukrainian forces maintain their ground.

The defense forces of Ukraine are resolute in their offensive operations in the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions. They are inflicting significant losses on the occupying forces, gradually reclaiming territories, and consolidating along the recently reached borders.

Meanwhile, in the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian soldiers associated with the OSGT Odesa anti-aircraft missile defense system are engaged in a counter-battery fight. They have successfully destroyed supply depots, effectively damaging the enemy’s rear positions.

Over the past 24 hours, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted 11 strikes on concentrated enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment. In addition, they targeted the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile systems. The missile forces also played a crucial role, hitting three areas with enemy personnel and equipment concentrations, along with two anti-aircraft missile systems, 13 artillery pieces, an ammunition depot, and an enemy electronic warfare station.

The situation in Ukraine remains highly volatile, with the Ukrainian Defense Forces pushing back against separatist groups and foreign-backed aggression. The ongoing conflict has caused significant humanitarian concerns, including casualties among the civilian population and substantial damage to infrastructure. Efforts for a peaceful resolution must be prioritized to bring stability and security to the affected regions.
