The modified Maruti 800 is making waves on social media as it transforms into a Maruti Suzuki Jimny lookalike. This creative modification has sparked mixed reactions among car enthusiasts, with some praising the owner’s ingenuity while others are skeptical about the outcome.

The Maruti 800 holds a special place in the hearts of many Indians, as it was once the most popular car in the country. Despite its simplicity and lack of modern features, it is still cherished by those who owned it. Known for its rugged body, compact size, and powerful engine, the Maruti 800 has left a lasting impression on the Indian automotive landscape.

In a viral video shared by Instagram user lalit0saini, a modified Maruti 800 with an open roof, new front end, and off-road tires can be seen imitating the Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUV. The owner reportedly spent nearly Rs 2 lakh on the various modifications. The transformed car boasts a clamshell bonnet, rectangular grille with vertical slats, redesigned bumper, and round headlamps, all contributing to its striking resemblance to the Jimny. The doors have been removed, and the rear of the car has undergone a complete makeover, except for the taillights. The rear bumper has been redesigned, and a spare wheel is mounted on the boot lid. The addition of new off-roading tires completes the rugged look.

While some are mocking this creation, others are drawing comparisons with another popular off-roader, the Mahindra Thar. The modified Maruti 800’s resemblance to the Jimny has sparked a debate among car enthusiasts, with opinions divided on whether it is a clever modification or simply a poor imitation.

However, it is important to note that all car modifications in India, including even minor changes like adding auxiliary lights, are illegal under the latest Motor Vehicle Act. Violating these regulations can lead to legal consequences, including imprisonment.

Despite the legal concerns, the popularity of the viral video suggests that there may be a growing interest in similar modifications among car owners. However, it is crucial to exercise caution and adhere to the law when considering any modifications.

In conclusion, the modified Maruti 800’s transformation into a Maruti Suzuki Jimny lookalike has caused a stir on social media. While some admire the owner’s creativity, others are more skeptical. The video has sparked a debate about the legality of car modifications in India. Regardless of personal opinions, it is essential to prioritize compliance with the law to avoid any legal repercussions.
