We had been searching for the elusive leopard, but had no luck in doing so. As we made our way back to camp, something unexpected happened!
The unexpected turn of events began when a family of elephants were spotted bathing in the Sand River. While this may be a common sight on safari, the group couldn’t resist stopping to marvel at the graceful giants. Little did they know that something even more extraordinary was about to unfold.
As the group observed the elephants play, they noticed movement in the background. Two ears appeared, signaling the arrival of a lion. The majestic creature descended from the ridge and started drinking in plain sight of the astonished safari-goers. And then, one by one, more lions emerged on the sandbank, forming a breathtaking line along the river to quench their thirst. This was the Kambula Lion Pride, a sight rarely witnessed by humans.
