Ten-Year-Old Boy Fatally Strangles Himself Attempting Risky Stunt with Skipping Rope
A tragic incident unfolded in Northeast Delhi, as a 10-year-old boy lost his life while allegedly attempting a dangerous stunt with a skipping rope at his home. The incident occurred on Wednesday and resulted in the boy accidentally strangling himself to death.
According to the authorities, the young boy had been inspired by a video he had watched, showcasing a daring act involving a skipping rope. Eager to imitate what he had seen, he decided to recreate the stunt. Unfortunately, in a heartbreaking turn of events, the skipping rope became entangled around his neck, leading to his suffocation and subsequent demise.
The incident took place in the Kartar Nagar area around 7 pm, leaving the entire community in shock and disbelief. Based on preliminary investigations, the police believe that the stunt involved tying the rope around the neck.
A senior police officer revealed, The boy’s family informed us that he often watched videos of stunts and enjoyed experimenting. In this particular case, he was attempting to reenact one such stunt using the skipping rope. Tragically, it wrapped around his neck, causing him to suffocate. Despite his efforts, he was unable to remove it and collapsed.
The boy’s mother, who was present in a different room at the time, became aware of the distressing situation when she discovered her son lying on the ground. She promptly alerted neighbors and rushed him to the nearest hospital. However, despite their best efforts, doctors at the hospital declared him dead on arrival.
Upon receiving information from the hospital, the police immediately initiated an inquiry into the matter. Determining it to be an accidental death, they ruled out any foul play. As of now, no criminal case has been registered, but inquest proceedings under CrPC section 174 (unnatural death) have been initiated.
This tragic incident has left the family shattered and mourning the loss of their beloved child. The boy is survived by his parents and a five-year-old brother. The father works at an electronics firm in Delhi while the mother is a homemaker.
