Minibus Accident in Iran Leaves 10 Dead and 8 Injured
TEHRAN, A tragic accident involving a minibus carrying mountaineers has claimed the lives of 10 people in Iran. According to state media reports, the vehicle veered off a mountain road near Varzaghan, in the province of East Azerbaijan, and plunged into a ravine. The incident occurred on Friday, and the provincial emergency services spokesman, Vahid Shadinia, described the cause of the accident as yet undetermined.
The minibus was en route to a tourist village located in the picturesque mountainous region when it unexpectedly overturned, leading to the devastating fall. Mr. Shadinia expressed his sorrow, stating that Ten people, including the driver, lost their lives in this tragic event, while eight others sustained injuries. Highlighting the importance of seat belts, he added, If the seat belts had been fastened, the number of victims would have been lower.
