Zoho launches new Student Edition of Zoho Books, empowering future accounting professionals in India

Zoho, the global technology company based in Chennai, has unveiled a new student edition of its popular cloud-accounting software, Zoho Books, designed specifically for aspiring and future accounting professionals in India. The launch of this edition coincided with CA Day and aims to empower students by offering them a modern accounting solution that allows them to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical ways. The goal is to equip future CAs with the necessary tools to stay at the forefront of technological advancements in the industry.

The student edition of Zoho Books is being made available to students in India for free. It provides aspiring CAs and finance professionals with key features commonly used in the industry, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, project billing, manual journals, financial reporting, and chart of accounts. Moreover, it allows students to practice tax and statutory compliance activities like GST filing, e-invoicing, TCS, TDS, and audit trails. To make accounting more accessible and flexible, students can also download the Zoho Books app for iOS, Android, and Windows devices.

Prashant Ganti, Head of Product Management at Zoho Finance and Operations Suite, expressed the company’s mission to equip future CAs with the necessary tools to excel in the field. By providing students with access to the latest technology from the beginning of their academic journey, Zoho aims to prepare them for the evolving needs of the accounting industry. This move also involves strengthening collaborations with educational institutes to turn this vision into reality.

CA Sanjib Sanghi, Chairman of EICASA of EIRC and Vice Chairman of EIRC of ICAI, emphasized the importance of practical knowledge and hands-on experience in accounting. With free access to the student edition of Zoho Books, students can enhance their accounting knowledge and improve their employability skills in the finance domain.

To further support students in their learning journey, Zoho has partnered with 25 educational institutes. Experienced CAs will provide training to students on the usage of Zoho Books. This collaboration ensures that students in Bangalore, Coimbatore, Pune, Ahmedabad, and multiple cities in Kerala receive the necessary guidance to effectively utilize the software.
