Zamfara State governor, Alhaji Dauda Lawal, stated that he had deliberately decided not to interfere with the planning and execution of hajj operations in his state to ensure a smooth and successful exercise. He commended the management and board of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for their unwavering commitment to uplift hajj administration in the country. The governor was impressed with the seamless airlift of Zamfara State’s pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
During a courtesy visit to NAHCON’s head office in Abuja, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, the chairman/CEO of NAHCON, expressed delight with the governor’s style and maturity since he assumed office. He commended pilgrims and officials of the Sokoto and Zamfara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards for their efforts in ensuring smooth airlift operations in the Sokoto zone.
Moreover, Nigerian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Yahaya Lawal, commended NAHCON’s chairman for his vision and all-inclusive style of management in monitoring the organization of the hajj airlift. He assured NAHCON of the Nigerian embassy’s readiness and commitment to support and collaborate with the organization to achieve its desired goals.
The hajj airlift is an annual religious duty for millions of Muslims worldwide and a significant source of revenue for Saudi Arabia. This year’s hajj airlift in Nigeria has been notable for its seamless and well-coordinated operations, with the airlift of over 95,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
