City Girls’ rapper Yung Miami is defending her win for Best Hip Hop Platform at the BET Hip Hop Awards and clapping back at critics who questioned her victory. During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, Miami addressed the criticism from hosts N.O.R.E. and Charlamagne Tha God, asserting that she works hard and deserves recognition.

People always saying I don’t deserve stuff. Why don’t I deserve anything? Miami stated. I work hard. I deserve everything. When I just did my first live podcast, it was around the corner. It’s new. We’re in a new time. We’re in a new generation. I’m bringing something new, so why I don’t deserve it? God put me here for a reason and this is what he had for me. This was destined for me. So don’t say I don’t deserve it, just say you were salty.

Charlamagne had questioned whether Miami’s boyfriend, Diddy, who has ties to BET, influenced the voting process. However, Miami brushed off this suggestion, pointing out that if that were the case, she would have won a VMA as well.

Miami’s podcast, Caresha Please, won the Best Hip Hop Platform award, beating out heavyweight contenders such as Drink Champs, The Breakfast Club, Million Dollaz Worth of Game, and The Joe Budden Podcast. Still, N.O.R.E. expressed his frustration with Miami’s victory, tweeting, So nobody gonna say nothing ’bout the podcast/media award? Ok me neither.

Charlamagne also discussed his doubts about Miami’s win on The Breakfast Club, noting that while Caresha Please is high-quality content, he doesn’t see enough consistency for her to win two years in a row.

Despite not explicitly addressing N.O.R.E. and Charlamagne directly, Miami took to Twitter to clap back at them, stating, I love Caresha (BUT) bitch take your hating ass on! Ain’t no but bitch!!!

While Miami defends her win, the City Girls’ latest album, RAW, has faced disappointing first-week sales, selling around 6,000 to 8,000 equivalent units. The duo attributes the low numbers to bad management and bad timing.

In conclusion, Yung Miami is standing firm in her defense of her Best Hip Hop Platform win at the BET Hip Hop Awards. Despite criticism from N.O.R.E. and Charlamagne, Miami believes she deserves recognition for her hard work. The City Girls rapper’s podcast, Caresha Please, topped heavyweights in the category. However, critics have questioned the consistency of her podcast, prompting the rap star to clap back on social media. As the City Girls’ latest album faces disappointing sales, Miami maintains that she deserves recognition for her contributions to the hip hop industry.
