Visakhapatnam: The YSR Aasara program implemented by the Andhra Pradesh government has been credited with empowering women in the state. Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana and Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao praised the loan waiver initiative during public meetings in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts, respectively.
Minister Satyanarayana highlighted Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s commitment to improving the lives of women in the state through various schemes. He emphasized that the government was implementing these schemes without considering the political affiliations of the beneficiaries.
During the Aasara fourth tranche distribution event in Cheepurupalli, Minister Satyanarayana announced plans to lay the foundation stone for a 100-bed hospital in the region. He distributed a cheque amounting to Rs 11.54 crore as the fourth tranche of the Aasara program, benefiting 14,727 members of self-help groups in Cheepurupalli mandal. Additionally, he inaugurated a village health clinic and an RBK center, as well as distributed house pattas to 41 homeless families.
Similarly, Revenue Minister Prasada Rao praised the YSR Aasara program for bringing positive changes to the lives of women across the state. He emphasized that the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) fulfills its promises and works diligently to improve the well-being of its constituents. The minister further mentioned that the government has allocated substantial funds to provide houses and house sites to 20,000 beneficiaries.
Both ministers highlighted the importance of addressing the basic needs of the people, including food, healthcare, and education, which have been prioritized through various welfare schemes launched by the YSRCP government.
The YSR Aasara program, which aims to waive loans for members of the Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) groups, has been widely praised for its positive impact and commitment to empowering women in Andhra Pradesh.
The initiative was conceived by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy after he listened to the concerns of women during his padayatra (foot march) before the elections. The government has successfully implemented the loan waiver in four phases, providing relief and support to thousands of women.
The YSR Aasara program has not only improved the financial standing of women but also boosted their confidence and enabled them to participate actively in economic activities. It has been instrumental in uplifting the socio-economic status of women in rural areas, thereby contributing to the overall development of the state.
