A 22-year-old man was found dead in a village in Andhra Pradesh’s Konaseema district on June 25th, and the police have said that the death is likely a suicide. Medisetty Shyam Manikanta Ramprasad was found hanging with slashed wrists, and following an inquest, the police concluded that the case is a prima facie suicide. Ramprasad studied hospitality management and currently wasn’t working, while his parents live in Tirupati. The police have registered a case under CrPC Section 174 and are investigating the death. The body has been handed over to Ramprasad’s family members after the post-mortem report is awaited.
Meanwhile, the state’s principal opposition leader, N Chandrababu Naidu, has demanded a thorough investigation into the case, alleging the involvement of ruling YSRCP members. In a tweet, Naidu urges for an impartial probe into the matter to ensure justice is served.
The death of the young man has shocked many, and further investigations are being carried out to ascertain the cause of his suicide.
