The University of Sargodha (UoS), in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), has launched a football talent hunt under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme. The trials are being held to identify talented young athletes for both men and women’s leagues across Punjab. The trials have already started, and thousands of young football players, between the ages of 15 to 25 years, are participating and showcasing their skills.
The trials kicked off at the UoS Football Cricket Ground in Sargodha, where the Vice Chancellor of UoS, Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas, addressed the opening ceremony. Commissioner Sargodha Muhammad Ajmal Bhatti, Pro-Vice Chancellor UoS Prof Dr Ilyas Tariq, Director of Sports at UoS Ahmad Khan Haral, Director of Sports at LCWU Sumaira Sattar, and District General Secretary of PML(N) Rana Munawar Ghaus, were also present at the event.

The programme was designed to support and promote sports activities across the country, and it aims to help young athletes receive proper training and resources to achieve their goals.
The football talent hunt is an excellent chance for young athletes to showcase their skills and get selected for the national team, which could provide them with ample growth opportunities. Through this talent hunt, the country can discover promising football players who could become potential stars and represent Pakistan in international competitions.
The trials will continue in different regions of Punjab, with the hope of finding the most talented young athletes. The football talent hunt is part of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, which aims to provide opportunities for young people to excel in sports, education, and other areas. It also seeks to improve the quality of life for young people across the country.
