Dominica’s Zuri Alfred has emerged victorious at the first Leon Paul International Junior Series (LPIJS) 2024 in London, securing second place in the competition. The LPIJS, which runs from January 1 to August 31, attracts young athletes from various regions around the world and is divided into four categories based on age groups.
Zuri Alfred, a talented fencer who has been representing Dominica for several years, entered the LPIJS ranked fourth after her performance at the Budapest Olympic Fencing Tournament in 2023. Continuing to excel on the international stage, she showcased her skills and demonstrated her potential in the combat sport of fencing.
The Dominica Olympic International Committee has acknowledged Zuri’s impressive achievement and extended their best wishes for her journey in 2024. Social media users have also joined in celebrating her outstanding performance and have shown their support and admiration for her.
Zuri’s father, Del Addison Alfred, expressed his excitement and pride in February 2023 as she prepared to represent Dominica in the Budapest Olimpici Fencing Tournament.
