Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 144 development projects worth INR 3,638.25 crore in Ballia. During the event, which also commemorated International Yoga Day, the CM praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his leadership in the event at the UN. He also highlighted the importance of the inland waterways service between Haldia and Varanasi, which he said can play a significant role in facilitating the exportation of fresh vegetables from the district. Additionally, Yogi paid tribute to Loknayak Jai Prakash Narayan, who he claimed gave a fresh lease of life to India’s democracy during the emergency on June 25. During the event, three passenger buses of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) were also flagged off and certificates were distributed to beneficiaries of various government schemes. State ministers Daya Shankar Singh, Dr Daya Shankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’, and Danish Mirza Ansari were in attendance.
