Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched the ‘Udyami Mitra’ program to facilitate communication between entrepreneurs and the government. The Udyami Mitras will serve as a bridge between the government and investors, and act as a third eye to improve ease of doing business. During a ceremony held at Lok Bhawan, the Chief Minister provided 102 Udyami Mitras with appointment letters and distributed an incentive amount of Rs 2.32 crore to various entrepreneurs. The Udyami Mitras are expected to solve investors’ problems at a local level, and inform concerned authorities if a solution is not found.

Yogi urged entrepreneurs to invest more in the state of Uttar Pradesh and use CSR funds to connect youth with skill development activities. He also requested that industries link themselves with educational institutions and train those associated with them. The Chief Minister went on to state that the goal of the Udyami Mitra program is to make Uttar Pradesh one of India’s largest economies. In addition, the work of the Udyami Mitras would be evaluated every month, and those who successfully complete the three-year tenure will receive age relaxation and special weightage.

The Chief Minister noted that more than 100 Udyami Mitras had been selected through the process, which saw 1,500 candidates apply. Of those selected, 87 were men and 18 were women, and all had graduated from prestigious educational institutions such as the University of Wales, IIM Lucknow, and Indore, BHU, Triple IIT Prayagraj, and NIT Prayagraj.

The Chief Minister praised the improved law and order situation in his state and the investment-friendly facilities like the single window clearance created by his government. Entrepreneurs in attendance expressed appreciation as well, while offering suggestions to improve the program further.

The Udyami Mitra program is modelled on the CM Fellowship Scheme, where selected youths are sent to aspirational development blocks to assist in linking them with the development process. The Chief Minister assured entrepreneurs that the government will not allow any businessmen or entrepreneur to be approached by goons for donations or any sort of election support. He concluded by calling on entrepreneurs to invest more in Uttar Pradesh and create jobs.
