The Chief Minister’s Farmer Scholarship Scheme has been extended to include four new universities and 37 colleges in Uttar Pradesh, according to a statement released by the state government. The four new universities are Agriculture and Technical University of Banda, Aligarh Muslim University, Rani Lakshmibai Central Agricultural University Jhansi, and Bundelkhand University. The existing scheme provides a monthly scholarship of Rs 3,000 to students of agriculture and home science from five universities and 23 colleges. Additionally, a tissue culture laboratory will be built in Ayodhya to provide quality planting materials and improve horticultural crops. The new additions will cost an estimated Rs 2.65 crore in the first year, increasing to approximately Rs 6.63 crore annually after three years, with a total budget of Rs 15 crore proposed for the scheme. The press release also provided a list of the 37 new colleges affiliated with the scheme.
