The Delhi Police has filed a charge sheet in court against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief for sexual harassment. The charge sheet runs over 1,000 pages and contains statements from approximately 200 witnesses. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the accused, allegedly attempted to coerce one athlete into sexual acts by offering her supplements, hugged another wrestler on his bed, and inappropriately touched the other athletes while training. The charge sheet filed against him are under Sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (making sexually coloured remarks), 354D (stalking) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). The former WFI assistant secretary Vinod Tomar was also implicated under Sections 109 (offer a bribe), 354, 354A, 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. The case will continue on June 22nd, where the accused will be heard by Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahima Rai of Rouse Avenue Court.
