Wrestlers protesting against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Singh have denied backing down from their protest. Reports suggested that the wrestlers had withdrawn their protest, but wrestler Satyawart Kadian has claimed that this is false. He insists that they have not compromised and will not step back, adding that fake news is being spread to weaken the protest. Olympic medalist wrestler Sakshi Malik has also rejected reports that wrestlers have withdrawn their ongoing protest. Malik clarified that she had resumed her duties as an Officer on Special Duty (Sports) in the Railways but insisted that the fight will continue until justice is served. On May 28, wrestlers had planned a march and protest in front of the new Parliament, despite the imposition of Section 144 in the area. They were detained and FIRs were filed against them under IPC sections 147, 149, 186, 188, 332, 353, and Section 3 of the PDPP Act. United World Wrestling (UWW) has demanded action against the WFI chief and has condemned the detention of wrestlers during their march to the new parliament building. UWW has expressed disappointment over the lack of results of the investigations so far and has urged relevant authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into the allegations.
