Berlin: Aaron Taylor-Johnson to Reunite With ‘Outlaw King’ Director David Mackenzie on ‘Fuze’
The discovery of an unexploded World War II bomb at a London construction site sets the stage for a high-stakes bank heist in the upcoming film ‘Fuze.’ Directed by David Mackenzie, known for his work on ‘Outlaw King,’ and featuring Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the lead role, the movie promises to combine the tension of bomb disposal with the thrill of a heist.
European production group Anton has taken on the financing of ‘Fuze’ and will begin pre-sales at the European Film Market in Berlin. UTA Independent Film Group and WME Independent will co-represent the film’s rights in the United States alongside Anton.
Gillian Berrie, a producer of acclaimed films like ‘Outlaw King’ and ‘Tetris,’ will collaborate with Mackenzie’s production company Sigma Films to produce ‘Fuze.’ Joining the team are Sebastien Raybaud and Callum Grant from Anton. Cinematographer Giles Nuttgens, recognized for his work on ‘Hell or High Water,’ will contribute his expertise to the project. The script for ‘Fuze’ was penned by Ben Hopkins.
Explaining the inspiration behind the project, Mackenzie stated, I had the idea of combining all the high stakes of an unexploded bomb with that of a bank robbery — clashing these two genres to create as much pressure as possible -in a context that feels as real as possible. Ben Hopkins took those ingredients and cooked up the compelling script that we are now taking into production.
The concept of ‘Fuze’ merges the relentless tension of a bomb movie with the captivating heist genre, promising a thrilling ride for audiences.
Anton will showcase a sizzle reel of ‘Fuze’ to potential buyers at the European Film Market. The production group will also present other exciting projects, including Zach Strauss’ psychological horror ‘Palette’ starring Hunter Schafer and Noomi Rapace, as well as ‘A Prayer for the Dying,’ featuring Callum Turner.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson, known for his roles in ‘Kick-Ass’ and ‘Nocturnal Animals,’ is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, WME, and Sloane, Offer, Weber and Dern, LLP. David Mackenzie is represented by UTA and United Agents in London, and by Alan Wertheimer and Kim Jaime. Gillian Berrie is represented by UTA, United Agents in London, and Alan Wertheimer and Kim Jaime. Giles Nuttgens is represented by UTA.
With its combination of intense action and suspense, ‘Fuze’ promises to captivate audiences around the world. Stay tuned for further updates on this thrilling project.
