A woman has been sentenced by the courts after admitting her role in the burglary of a popular Chinese restaurant. Charlotte Clarke, aged 21, pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary with intent to steal at Chester Magistrates’ Court. The burglary took place at Maplewood Restaurant, a well-known Cantonese-style Chinese eatery on Warrington Road in Bold Heath. Clarke, of Skipton Close in Runcorn, entered the restaurant as a trespasser with the intention to steal. She was sentenced to a conditional discharge for the next 12 months. Additionally, Clarke has been ordered to pay £120 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £26 statutory surcharge to fund victim services. The money will be deducted from her benefits, as approved by the magistrates. The defendant has been warned that if she commits another offense within the next year, she will face sentencing for both the old and new offenses.
