A woman tragically lost her life while crossing a street in Phoenix on Wednesday evening when she and a man were hit by an SUV. The incident occurred near 44th Street and Osborn Road, between Indian School and Thomas roads, prompting a response from the Phoenix Police Department around 6:45 p.m.
Both pedestrians were found lying in the roadway, while a white SUV involved in the collision came to a stop nearby. The injured individuals received immediate assistance from the fire department and were rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Sadly, the woman, whose identity has not been released, later succumbed to her injuries.
According to Sgt. Phil Krynsky, a press release from the Phoenix Police Department stated that the collision investigation revealed the man and woman were crossing 44th Street when they were struck by the southbound SUV. Notably, the driver did not display any signs of impairment, as confirmed by the police.
