Industry association Wind Independent Power Producers Association (WIPPA) has suggested four measures to hasten progress in the wind energy sector. WIPPA President Parag Sharma called for the implementation of the bidding plan, ISTS open access, fixing the missing links in late payment surcharge and greater facilitation of offshore wind bids. WIPPA will organise an event on Sunday in conjunction with India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy to raise awareness of wind energy ahead of Global Wind Day on 15 June. India aimed to install 60 GW of wind energy capacity by 2022, but has so far added only 43.198 GW, according to official data.
