DEAR DEIDRE: WHY do men on dating sites only want one thing? I’m looking for commitment to a long-term partnership but it seems as if all the good guys are taken.
I’m a woman of 36 and all I’ve ever wanted was to settle down and have a family.
I started working when I was 19 and I’m still in the same company but as I was offered promotions and then some travel, I’ve never settled down with anyone.
I now own a nice apartment, have a good car and go on holidays with friends but I long to find somebody special.
I started online dating and I’ve got a profile on two sites. If the guys aren’t sending me explicit photographs from the get-go, they’re asking for sex after our first date.
It’s happened five times now. The only guy who didn’t mention sex was 30 and he was too nerdy for me. We weren’t compatible at all.
How can I attract the right sort of man for me?
