Wealthy North County Woman Arrested in Alleged Murder-for-Hire Plot Against Husband
A wealthy North County woman has been arrested on charges of attempting to hire a hitman to murder her husband. Tatyana Remley, 42, was taken into custody last month after allegedly meeting with an undercover detective and providing detailed instructions on how she wanted her spouse killed. According to authorities, Remley brought cash and three weapons to the meeting as a down payment. She has since pleaded not guilty to charges of solicitation of murder, along with concealing a weapon in a vehicle and carrying a loaded gun in a public place.
The Remleys, known for their lavish lifestyle, have been embroiled in a tumultuous marriage for over a decade. Divorce filings from previous attempts reveal a pattern of extravagant spending, with claims that the couple would sometimes spend upwards of $50,000 a month. They employed bodyguards, personal assistants, and weekly drivers to cater to their opulent lifestyle.
However, Tatyana Remley repeatedly accused her husband of verbal abuse, acts of violence, and intimidation. Prosecutors allege that she not only wanted an end to her troubled marriage but also desired her husband’s demise. The recent arrest is not the first legal trouble for Remley. In July of this year, authorities responded to a fire at the couple’s Rancho Reposa residence, where Remley was found with three guns and ammunition, resulting in her initial arrest on firearm-related charges. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Court documents shed light on the couple’s rocky relationship, with numerous divorce petitions peppered with allegations of violence and intimidation. Tatyana recounted instances of her husband putting a gun to her head in front of an employee and chasing her with a knife, leading to neighbor’s calls to 911. She also claimed that she was once held at gunpoint by her husband’s friends while her home was trashed. These allegations have been refuted by Mark Remley, and their veracity remains to be determined in court.
The Remleys’ personal troubles compound the collapse of their ambitious horse show project, Valitar, in 2012. The couple invested millions into bringing the show, featuring acrobats and horses, to life. However, after just four performances, they abandoned the project, leaving vendors and performers without payment. The show’s failure led to the filing of bankruptcy by Mark Remley’s corporation, Equustria Development.
Following the dissolution of Valitar, the couple ventured into the fitness industry, opening a cycling studio called Rhythm and Power in Solana Beach. Unfortunately, this venture also met its demise within a year of operation.
As Tatyana Remley faces charges for her alleged murder-for-hire plot against her husband, the Remleys’ tumultuous marriage and troubled business ventures have been thrust into the spotlight. With their preliminary hearing scheduled for November, the impending trial will shed further light on the complexities surrounding this wealthy North County couple.
