Trouble seems to be brewing within the Kerala unit of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) as one of its two legislators, Thomas K. Thomas, has been warned against airing personal differences in public. This comes after Thomas expressed his ire towards State NCP president P.C. Chacko, who was interfering in local party affairs in Thomas’s home district of Alappuzha. The issue initially began as a small difference of opinion between the two but has now grown into an ugly spat. State Forest Minister A.K. Saseendran has pledged his full support to the Chacko camp, which has further angered Thomas. The NCP is an ally of the Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Democratic Front, which is in power in Kerala.
