Volkswagen is set to showcase an exciting integration at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The automaker will unveil vehicles featuring the artificial-intelligence-based chatbot ChatGPT, integrated into its IDA voice assistant. Volkswagen will be the first volume manufacturer to offer ChatGPT as a standard feature. This new functionality, presented in collaboration with technology partner Cerence Inc., will be available as an option for production vehicles in Europe from the second quarter of 2024, including popular models such as the ID.7, ID.4, ID.5, ID.3, Tiguan, Passat, and Golf. While the feature is being considered for the United States, Volkswagen ensures that ChatGPT will not have access to personal vehicle information, prioritizing user privacy.

Meanwhile, BMW is also making waves at CES 2024 with its focus on enhancing the digital customer experience. The luxury automaker is introducing new infotainment features and innovations in video streaming and in-car gaming for its current model line. Owners of BMWs with Operating System 9 and the optional BMW Digital Premium offer will have access to the extended BMW ConnectedDrive Store, which includes third-party apps for music, news, and gaming. Moreover, BMW is taking in-car entertainment to the next level by introducing full-fledged gaming controllers for playing games like Beach Buggy Racing 2. Two players can even compete against each other using the split-screen mode, making it an exciting addition for gaming enthusiasts. BMW is also working on optimizing the TiVo Operating System with the DTS AutoStage Video Service for an enhanced video streaming experience in its vehicles.

Both Volkswagen and BMW are pushing the boundaries of in-car technology and connectivity, offering customers sophisticated and interactive features. With Volkswagen integrating ChatGPT into its IDA voice assistant and BMW elevating the in-car gaming experience, these automakers are keeping pace with the evolving demands of tech-savvy consumers. As the automotive industry trends toward increased AI integration and enhanced digital experiences, Volkswagen and BMW are leading the charge in providing innovative solutions that make driving not only convenient but also entertaining. With an emphasis on user privacy and continuous improvement, these advancements promise to deliver an exciting and safe driving experience for the future.
