Vodafone Idea Partners with C-DOT to Launch State-of-the-Art IoT Lab
Vodafone Idea, a leading telecommunications company, has teamed up with the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) to establish an innovative laboratory that aims to drive standardization and compatibility within the Internet of Things (IoT) industry. This collaboration highlights the company’s dedication to promoting the widespread adoption of IoT solutions across various sectors.
Vi Business, the business arm of Vodafone Idea, recently announced that the lab has successfully tested over 50 devices in sectors including automobile, utility, banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), and logistics. Equipped with the capability to handle more than 175 testing scenarios, the lab covers network and functional testing, field testing, application testing, compatibility testing, and adherence to the oneM2M standard.
The facility is particularly focused on assessing over 30 use cases in industries such as advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), connected cars, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and vehicle tracking systems (VTS). Additionally, it scrutinizes key components like devices, modules, SIMs, applications, and firmware.
One of the lab’s primary responsibilities is to test and certify compatibility with the oneM2M standards, which have been recognized as the national standard for designing IoT solutions by the Bureau of Indian Standards. It not only validates network performance in alignment with the device but also facilitates the certification of solution interoperability.

Additionally, the center will facilitate the adaptation of solutions in line with the OneM2M standards.
By establishing this cutting-edge IoT lab and expanding it into a center of innovation, Vodafone Idea and C-DOT aim to accelerate the adoption of standardized IoT solutions across industries.
