In a viral video that has been making rounds on social media, a pastor from Suame in the Ashanti Region has criticized the presidential bid of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and advocated for a Ga candidate instead. The pastor outlined five reasons why he believes Dr. Bawumia should not be the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate.
One of the main points the pastor raised is Dr. Bawumia’s lack of credibility and trustworthiness due to previous lies he has told. According to the pastor, these credibility issues make Dr. Bawumia an inadequate candidate for the presidency of Ghana.
The pastor also disputed the argument that Dr. Bawumia should be made a candidate to honor the Dombo tradition of the NPP. Instead, he argued that someone from the Ga tribe should be chosen as they have never had a president before. He criticized the NPP for allegedly cheating and neglecting the Ga-Adamgde people, stating that they belong to the UP tradition but have never been made the presidential candidate of the NPP.
Furthermore, the pastor expressed his discontent with Vice President Bawumia campaigning while leaving his office, claiming that this worsens the hardship in the country. He accused the vice president of using the entire government machinery to support his campaign.
