Upon further investigation, it has been confirmed that the viral video actually took place in 2022 when Tinubu consulted Obasanjo about his presidential ambition during a visit to his residence in Abeokuta. The video was not related to the 80th birthday ceremony of Alake.
Obasanjo’s Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, issued a statement condemning the fake post and clarifying the context of the video. He explained that the banter conversation featured in the video took place between Obasanjo and Tinubu during a visit to Obasanjo’s house before the country’s general elections this year.
Obasanjo emphasized that he has not seen Tinubu since that visit, debunking the claim made in the viral video. He also clarified that he was at the church during the 80th birthday celebration, not the reception.
The former President urged the creator of the fake post to seek employment elsewhere and not involve him in their deceptive activities. He made it clear that he is not looking for work and not working with anyone, contrary to what the viral video implies. He advised those interested in working with Tinubu to look outside of his affiliation with Obasanjo.
