Australian Metalcore Band Alpha Wolf Goes Viral with Awkward Wall of Death Incident in Kentucky
In a recent gig at the Appalachian Wireless Arena in Pikeville, Australian metalcore band Alpha Wolf experienced a hilariously awkward moment that has since gone viral. The band attempted to organize a wall of death during their performance, a popular crowd participation activity where the audience splits into two groups and runs at each other full tilt. However, it seems this phenomenon hasn’t quite made it to Kentucky yet.
Footage released by Alpha Wolf shows the crowd dutifully forming two walls but then failing to initiate the anticipated collision. Despite the band’s repeated signals urging them to run, the crowd remained motionless. The amusing incident has now been shared widely, even prompting Alpha Wolf to humorously comment on Twitter, Top ten wall of death fail compilations. It’s okay Kentucky, we still love you.
This viral moment couldn’t have come at a more exciting time for Alpha Wolf, as they are about to embark on a massive North American tour alongside After The Burial and Knocked Loose. The tour will span six weeks, taking them to various locations across the United States. Before this, the Melbourne-based band recently wrapped up a series of shows in Asia.
In 2022, Alpha Wolf contributed two songs, Hotel Underground and 60cm of Steel, to the split EP titled The Lost & The Longing. This collaborative project with Welsh outfit Holding Absence received praise from both bands. Holding Absence expressed their gratitude, stating, Alpha Wolf are a band we’ve loved as people and musicians for years now, and we’re so grateful they wanted to drop this release with us.
Alpha Wolf’s rise to fame has been quite eventful, as they even discovered Knotfest, a popular music festival, while partying in Europe. Their participation in Knotfest Australia was met with positive reviews, with many praising their brutal performance and the sense of belonging it evoked.
As Alpha Wolf continues to make waves in the heavy music scene, the band’s Kentucky wall of death mishap serves as a lighthearted reminder that cultural differences can lead to unexpected and amusing moments. Despite the failed crowd engagement, Alpha Wolf remains undeterred, fully embracing their growing popularity and showing their love for their fans, even in the face of viral fails.
