Vietnam, Nepal Enhance Friendship
President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations (VUFO), Phan Anh Son, hosted a delegation from the Nepal Peace and Solidarity Council (NPSC) in Hanoi on December 16. Led by NPSC Chairman Rabindra Adhikari, who is also a member of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), the delegation engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening the friendship between the two nations.
During the meeting, Son commended the fruitful working session between the Vietnam-Nepal Friendship Association and the NPSC delegation. He also highlighted the ongoing people-to-people exchange activities conducted by VUFO and its members, expressing the organization’s commitment to facilitating effective cooperation between the Vietnam-Nepal and Nepal-Vietnam Friendship Associations.
Son emphasized that Vietnam, the CPN-UML, and the NPSC share similar visions on development, ideology, communism, and socialism. He expressed his desire to bolster people-to-people exchange between the two countries, promoting a solid foundation for bilateral relations. Son urged VUFO and the Vietnam-Nepal Friendship Association to strengthen their connections with Nepali partners, particularly the NPSC, in order to establish practical cooperation.
Rabindra Adhikari, on his part, highlighted the admiration of the Nepali people for President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam’s struggle for national independence and development. Adhikari expressed his aspirations to strengthen Vietnam-Nepal relations through the establishment of direct flights and cooperation in areas such as tourism, investment, and trade.
During their meeting, Vietnamese and Nepali representatives discussed joint coordination in organizing significant anniversaries for both countries. They also agreed to continue exchanging information and engaging in discussions regarding measures and detailed cooperation activities to further enhance people-to-people exchange.
